This is a wonderful space for children and adults alike. If you like Lego building this is the place for you. Even if you don’t want to build but take your children , you can enjoy a lovely coffee while you watch/ help your children enjoy creating something out of Lego. There is a huge choice of Lego sets to choose from and the owners are great guys who can’t do enough to help and advise you. Good idea to book, especially in the holidays to avoid being disappointed.

This is a fantastic place to come and enjoy Lego. I simply cannot recommend it enough. It is just such great value as it is £5 per hour per builder. Drinks and snacks are reasonably priced too. You can build from a huge choice of Lego sets, many of which are rare / retired sets. There is something for everyone, and adult builders are welcome, too. In fact they have adult only hours on some days. It's a great activity to just relax and build something cool for an hour or 2. The atmosphere is relaxing and friendly and the kids love it here. I do too! People who want to "free build" can be as creative as they like, due to the large boxes of bits, and kids can display these builds on the shelves. Gaz and Chris are both very friendly and it's always a pleasure to visit. They obviously love Lego and it's great to see that they have been able to turn their hobby into a great local business. The choice of Lego sets to build is simply excellent. There are literally hundreds to choose from: Disney, star wars, super heroes, Ninjago, city, Harry Potter, to name just a few. They also have other larger sets that you can request (in advance) to build. You can build these larger sets over a few sessions and they will put them away for you to build next time. I built an amazing viking ship over a couple of weeks. They currently have a loyalty card scheme where you get a free hour after 5 stamps. My son loves coming here. He's quite shy and the guys are great with him and all the other kids. The Lego is always clean and the place is spotless. It's located close to the 2 main car parks in Retford and I think there is on street parking for free up to 2hrs, nearby. If you are considering visiting - check out the website to see what you can build. They often add new sets. It's best to book a table on the website especially during busier periods as there are a limited number of tables.

Brilliant spot for families and adult fans of LEGO. Bright, welcoming atmosphere with a great selection of builds - fan favourites as well as rare builds - and a café menu with delicious bakes from Treatyourself by JC. Was easy to book a table via the website, and we were greeted by friendly and upbeat staff on arrival. Café and activity areas are clean and well kept with great options for building and eating. All LEGO kits are kept in pristine condition. Definitely recommend Playwell Corner for all fans of LEGO and anyone looking for a unique day out in a friendly environment.

Just been with my daughter for the first time and we had an amazing experience. We only booked for an hour as it was our first time and we had so much fun. Next time we will be spending a lot more time here. The staff were very welcoming and talkative and helped with anything we needed. All in all an amazing hour out =)

Highly recommend. My sister booked this place for 2 hours for my nephews 7th birthday. All of the kids and parents really enjoyed the build kits. Will definitely be going back.

What an incredible place! PlayWell Centre in Retford is a gem — every time we visit, we’re blown away by how much joy, creativity, and warmth is in the air. From the moment you walk in, you can tell it’s not just about the bricks — it’s about the people too. The two lovely gents who run the place are just brilliant — so welcoming, patient, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Whether you’re a kid building your first mini-figure or a grown-up reimagining your childhood with a set of Technic pieces, they make you feel right at home. The range of Lego and the café set-up is spot on: well organized, clean, inspiring, and perfect for both relaxing with coffee and getting creative. If you’re in Retford (or even just passing through) and you fancy somewhere different, fun, and friendly — this is it. Highly recommend!
